Really Big Update!!

Hiya dolls and gents! So, it’s been a hot crazy minute since I had any updates. Covid madness aside, I’ve been making some big changes to my author and book stuff.

The change is one you may have noticed already – I changed my pen name! With the help of several marketing peeps, and lots of praying about it, I’ve changed my pen name to Rosie Zayne. Using “Roze Wallin” was only one letter different from my actual non-writer everyday name, and it was confusing people. Seriously, I got messages and emails asking why I bothered at all, several people were actually frustrated that I’d confused them with a pen name that wasn’t really a pen name.

As I’m learning more about marketing and working with some professionals in the field, I’ve decided that, you know what, they’re right. Why bother having a pen name if I’m not actually going to change much? The first name is similar but with a different last name, we all feel it’ll be a much better marketing name to use.

Over the next week I’ll be updating all my online sites as well as all my published books to reflect the new name. It’s a big change, but one I feel at peace about.

Why Rosie Zayne? Well, I love my first name and still don’t want to pick a new one for writing, which is why I went with the name I’ve been using for 5/6 years. The last name is a diminutive name for the Hebrew word for rose, and in English means “God is Gracious” which is exactly how I feel about being able to write books at all. He’s so wonderful with me and I wanted something to honor that in my pen name, and that fits perfectly. So from here on out, unless He leads another change for me, I’ll be writing and publishing as Rosie Zayne.

In other news, I WILL be doing NaNoWriMo this year! I’m hoping to get all this stuff updated before Nov 1st so I can get to cracking on book #10! Whoot!

I hope you’re having a fantastic last week of October! Love and light,

~Rosie Zayne

New Release & Life Updates!

Hiya peeps! First post of the year, whoot!

So if you’re a part of my Facebook group Rozeberries, you know I busted butt to crush the NaNoWriMo2019 goal. I hit the goal with a writing sprint of more than 10k words in 5 hours, on the last day of the challenge. I was a little writing drunk by the end of that sprint, but I did it!

I spent December running through second and third drafts, having it edited, and prepping it for publication. I’ve had almost all my books release on the 2nd day of whatever month I publish them on, and made it this year to release this book on January 2nd!

So, my 9th book and first book of the decade, released January 2nd, 2020, is live for Kindle users!

My laptop kicked the bucket that day (luckily after I had the Kindle edition released) while I was working on the Barnes & Noble and Paperback editions, so I am going to be delayed on getting those done. Having to start over sucks, but I’ll get them released as soon as possible.

For now, here’s my newest release!

Ava has moved to yet another new town, in the middle of the first semester senior year. Being the new girl sucks, but Mountainridge holds secrets and monsters that outweigh her school issues. Her life will never be the same once school bully Kaen tears into her life like a wildfire.

Kaen’s life won’t be the same either, and his life isn’t the only one that is forever changed by Ava coming to town. The secrets and balance he’s spent years holding tightly are in danger, and he may not be strong enough to keep it together. He knows what he’s hiding in his skinchanger’s heart, but he never would have guessed the secrets Ava didn’t even know she had.

A witch’s plot finally erupts, throwing the tiny mountain town – and the world – into chaos. Will Kaen and Ava survive her poisonous spells, or will the world fall into darkness? The future of humanity rests in the hands of those who aren’t even human, to keep the light shining in the world.

Short Excerpt from One of My WIP!

Hiya peeps! I’m working on one of my books today, and thought I’d share a quick excerpt! This book is so much fun to write!

“From the corner of her eye, she saw something move. Or at least, she thought she had. When she turned to look in the direction of the movement, there was nothing there. The room was still empty, so she must have imagined it. Right?
Shaking her head in an attempt to get rid of the hallucination, she wondered if she’d hit her head harder than they thought.”

Excited to keep going with this story! What do you think of this excerpt?
Much love my dudes,

Magnhild, is a freak. From her name, right down to her naturally bizarre visage – she’s an odd duck.

Her life has taken a swirling plunge into the drain the past few months, but it’s nothing compared to what’s coming. All she wants is to finish school, and start over somewhere fun.

Fate, has other plans.

Enter the Desi Pere underground organization, and three of it’s loyal members. They’ve enlisted Magnhild’s cooperation, whether she likes it or not. They mean to exploit her superhuman gifts – secrets she didn’t think anyone knew about. The bait: reuniting her with her mother…who’s supposed to be dead.

Overnight, she’s dragged into a hidden world – and a war – the normal world knows nothing about.

Danger, confusion, deception, and self-loathing fog each decision Magnhild faces.

She desperately hopes to find her mother, and bring meaning to her past of abuse and isolation. Will…

Where did Spring Go?!

I’m alive! And finally writing an update!

Mkay, it’s now July, and my last post was in early March.

*facepalm*

Y’all, I need to utilize a schedule to keep up with everything, as it’s obviously become too much to handle off the cuff.

For those who don’t know, I co-run an exotic pet shop in my non-author life, and we’ve gone through some massive changes the last couple months that have taken way more of my time than I’d prefer. It’s all getting finished though, and should run smoother, so I’m hoping now I can focus more on writing again, knock on wood.

Send good vibes for the writing schedule!!

At the moment, I’m working on eight novels simultaneously. Three are contemporary urban fantasies, completely separate, but exciting. One is an urban paranormal adventure, another is a sci-fi fantasy, another is a fairy-tale retelling-ish novel. The rest are contemporary romance novels. Lots coming up peeps!!

I’ll be sharing teasers and detailed updates about those through my newsletter, so if you aren’t signed up for that, be sure to get on that list! I’ll still be writing here, but most of the fun stuff will be for newsletter members.

I miss you guys though! What have y’all been up to so far this Summer? Any fun stuff going on? Let me know in the comments!

Hugs awesome-sauce peeps! I’m going to write while I’ve got some time. Thank you for stopping by!

Have a fantastic 4th of July weekend for my American peeps, and a fantastic weekend for my peeps abroad!

The world is full of busy people, millions of dreams, and amazing untold stories of struggles and victories. In this story, six women have their lives changed forever, with only one thing connecting them, aligning their otherwise wildly unrelated journeys.

This book is unlike anything you’ve ever read, diving into the realities of living with an illness that impacts the daily life, and the aspirations, of every 1 in 10 women. Endometriosis is one of the most painful and misdiagnosed conditions known to man, yet, it is hidden, hushed, and ignorantly shamed by society. Inspired by real stories and experiences, this contemporary fiction may just change your life, or the life of someone you know.

*A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to Endometriosis research and support causes.

It’s a fairly quick read, and a great way to learn about endo and read about amazing people. Please consider sharing, if you feel inspired – more awareness for this condition is always helpful!

So excited! I’m now going to get a bag of chocolate and a drink, and try to remember how to relax.

Endo Awareness Month – Important!!

‼️ Important!! 🗣
Okay, today’s post is a big one for me. Not only did my book, “The Endo Chronicles” release today, 🎉 I’m posting on the topic it’s written about. Endometriosis.

(Not from my book, but an educational book in the medical field about endo)

This is a condition that, in short, causes internal bleeding, has no cure, and every 1 in 10 women have it. 1 in 10. Think of 10 women you know, and odds are, one of them is standing there bleeding internally, and you don’t even know it. 😬😱😖

Endometriosis is listed as one of the top most painful conditions known to man. Obviously, because it’s internal bleeding – ouch! This pain often causes vomiting, blacking out, passing out, trips to the emergency room, and if the bleeding is severe enough, blood transfusions. 😰

Along with the debilitating pain, it often causes infertility, which is the most common way this condition is found and diagnosed. The only way it can actually be diagnosed, is through surgery, because the lesions that bleed inside the body can only be seen physically. The side-effects may be visible on scans, but then it’s an educated guess, so surgery has to confirm it. 😕

There are 5 stages of endo, 4 most commonly discussed or referred to, and endometriosis can spread to anywhere in the body. Everyone has different levels of pain, and while it isn’t an exact cookie-cutter automatic, generally the higher the stage, the worse the pain and spreading.

When it isn’t bleeding, spreading throughout the body, or increasing the chance of cancer, it’s causing adhesions that glue the organs together. 😬 Because endometriosis produces it’s own hormones and basically feeds itself, the only way to get rid of it, is to cut it out by the roots, and by then, it has released more endo cells and is growing somewhere else already, too small for the surgeons to see yet. 😞

Uterus with endometriosis

This is a life-long condition. Meds don’t stop it. Birth control doesn’t stop it. Hysterectomy doesn’t stop it. It’s an independent, self-sufficient, loves-to-travel b*tch of a condition. That’s why I wrote a book about it. That’s why I’m posting this. It’s hell to live with, and no one wants to talk about it because it’s awkward, but it’s hell. 🥺

If you have pain that’s making you black out, on or off your cycle, that’s not normal. Don’t listen when people say you’re dramatic, weak, or faking it. Your pain is real, you matter, and they need to listen. If you know someone who may have this, don’t blow them off, talk to them about it – you may just help save their future. 🤗

Many women with this condition commit suicide, because no one cares, no one listens, and they’re living alone in hell being told their weak or just faking it for pills. There may be some bad apples in the mix, but 1 in 10 is millions of women – that’s not drama or faking it!! 😤

Chemotherapy drug regularly prescribed for endo patients

You all know someone who has it – me. Stage 5, with uterine cancer that was removed via hysterectomy when I was 21. No kids. This condition is hell. Spread the word, so women and teenagers can catch it early and don’t have to lose so much of their life. 😓

Spread awareness. Spread compassion. Let’s find a cure. And spread love. 💛
